I think the issue is not Md2 but Rome Remastered? While the 'playing xx min ago' number seems low it might be just because Md2 players are older and play for fewer hours a week? of 2975 players and a peak of 5125, in comparison Rome got 7, Rome remastered 7? I checked Steam Charts and Md2 definitive version does not look that bad? Last 30 days got an avg. Just like Empire(Napoleon)/Shogun2(FotS), Rome2 and Attila(ToB), 3K and Troy to a lesser extend. For me Rome and Md2 are always the two titles closely linked together, at least in terms of mechanics, as the 'same generation'. Or, (what sounds easiest to me) do you think CA will just make a new game altogether (medieval 3 or otherwise) and forget the remaster? A real modern game, with all the heart of the first game. So it would definitely be a big hit for the historical total war fans.īut after Rome I, do you think they would make another "remaster"? Do you think CA would make a full remake, with new options, better graphics, ai, pathfinding. So, do you think they will make a medieval 2 remake? Cause the fact that we are now going into 2023 (wtf?) And medieval 2 still has a steady 2-3 thousand person playerbase on steam, every day, is crazy. Not just a repaint (which is nice and all, but still, I don't think it holds up to even rome 2 graphically).īut that starts to sound a lot more like a full remake, which sounds a lot more expensive, time consuming, difficult, and not to mention, much more risky than something like another warhammer game or something. Better ai, better pathfinding, additions of some diplomacy from new titles, maybe even add locations to the map, etc etc etc. So I was thinking, maybe CA realized Rome I remaster could have been so much more popular if they kept the game faithful to the original but with real upgrades. And on steam it seems it's one of the least played total war games (at this moment 900 people, compared to literally all the other total war games which are above 2000 players right now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Rome I remaster didn't do very well, did it? I don't know what the sales are like, but ive seen a lot more negative reviews about the game, than positive, given that it's basically just the same game with updated visuals. And medieval 2 now getting the mobile port, as well as the kingdoms expansion I was thinking they would follow what they did with Rome I and remaster Medieval 2.īut I was just thinking about it, I don't think CA/Feral would actually remaster medieval 2 anymore. I know nothing has ever been announced about a medieval 2 remaster, but given the similarity to Rome I getting its mobile port as well as expansion, following with a pc remaster not long afterwards.
